Seville enjoyed a packed cultural week in September. From Monday 14 to Sunday 20 September 2026, the Flamenco Biennial, Royal Alcázar concerts, two major independent music programmes, a craft fair and medieval festivities in the province coincided.

1. The final week of Nights in the Gardens of the Royal Alcázar
The Royal Alcázar concert season ended with five evenings spanning different styles and eras. On Tuesday 15, Antonia Ferrà brought soul, gospel, R&B and pop. Wednesday 16 featured Yaleili, connecting the music of Al-Andalus and the Middle East.
On Thursday 17, Bernardo Parrilla and Daahoud Salim paid tribute to John Coltrane and Miles Davis. Friday 18 featured Manu Brazo and Rosa Gavare with Dances of the World. Andreas Prittwitz and Ramiro Morales closed the season on Saturday 19 with a journey from Charles V’s court to Elizabethan England.

2. Festival del Patio: Tanxugueiras, Morgan, Los Planetas and Repion
The provincial council courtyard became an open-air concert venue for four nights. Tanxugueiras opened on Wednesday 16, Morgan performed on Thursday 17, Los Planetas presented their Esencial format on Friday 18 and Repion closed on Saturday 19.
Line-up change: Repion replaced Ginebras on Saturday following medical advice for a band member. Previously purchased tickets remained valid.

3. The Flamenco Biennial across Seville
The 24th Seville Flamenco Biennial continued with performances at venues including Teatro Lope de Vega, Teatro Alameda, Teatro Central, the Royal Alcázar, Espacio Turina and Hotel Triana.
A highlight was the return of Hotel Triana to the Biennial on 17–19 September. The first evening celebrated Gitana women with Remedios Amaya, La Fabi and Montse Cortés, accompanied by Josemi Carmona. Friday brought Uvitas negras, honouring Peña El Pozo de las Penas in Los Palacios; Saturday closed with Andalucía en el tiempo.

4. POP CAAC closes with Love of Lesbian and Carolina Durante
The grounds of the Andalusian Centre for Contemporary Art hosted the final weekend of POP CAAC 2026. Friday 18 featured Love of Lesbian, Pony Pool Club and Angie Sánchez. On Saturday 19, Carolina Durante headlined alongside Perro and Cariño.
A major independent music event and an opportunity to return to the Monastery of La Cartuja after nightfall.

5. Crafts beside the Cathedral: Hecho en Sevilla Otoño
From Tuesday 15, Calle Fray Ceferino González, between the Cathedral and the Archive of the Indies, brought together around thirty craftspeople from Seville and its province. The fifth Hecho en Sevilla Otoño Creative Craft Fair offered jewellery, ceramics, leatherwork, paper crafts and other trades.
A free, central event that could be combined with a walk through Santa Cruz or one of our favourite sunset spots in Seville.

6. A family outing: Medieval Days in El Castillo de las Guardas
The province’s major family event took place in El Castillo de las Guardas. Its seventh Medieval Days, postponed from March because of the weather, finally ran on 18–20 September.
The programme included a medieval market, historical camp, falconry, archery, music, dance, magic, puppets, street parades and fire performances. The opening parade began on Friday at 6 pm. The market opened on Saturday and Sunday at 11 am, with the Sunday closing scheduled for 5 pm. A particularly appealing family outing.
