In Seville’s historic centre, San Julián hides treasures many visitors miss: cobbled streets, traditional corners and a community of women makers transforming daily life into art. In December 2024, these craftspeople shared their talents through Recoveco Market, a route celebrating handmade creativity.

Much more than a market

Recoveco Market offered an experience beyond shopping: working studios where traditional techniques meet contemporary design. Organisers Natalia Mateu and Ellavled Alcano described a place for unique, sustainable gifts, including jewellery, fashion, crochet, ceramics, illustration, natural cosmetics and decoration from more than 60 local brands.

Celebrating local and sustainable creativity

Founded in 2020, the market became a meeting point for conscious consumption and local creativity. Its twelfth edition welcomed the festive season by celebrating the makers behind its products.

The route spread through Aceituno, San Hermenegildo, Morera, Juzgado, Pasaje Mallol and Sol. Each studio, or “house”, brought resident and guest brands together in a spirit of exchange and collaboration.

A route with a handmade soul

Each participating house offered something different:

House 1: Wud Taller (Aceituno, 6)

Woodworking and design.

House 2: Athelier Potmic (San Hermenegildo, 6A, left)

Resident makers MATILDA and Macareno presented jewellery, ceramics, recycling and upcycling with a sustainable approach.

Guest makers included:

  • 14–15 December: futuristic designs by Pistache, expressive ceramics by SOLITA and sustainable handmade jewellery by Nubla.

21–22 December: Raquel Pérez’s linocuts, Kitxeti’s handmade earrings and nature-inspired illustrations by Issabela Owens.

House 3: The Printed Rabbit (Morera, 5A)

The Printed Rabbit, known for artistic prints, welcomed guest brands including:

21–22 December: natural cosmetics by AtuVera, illustrations by Carmen Campos and minimalist ceramic designs by planC.

House 4: Nantu (Juzgado, 17)

Resident Nantú welcomed ilo (ropa sin género), an inclusive fashion project without gender labels.

House 5: Telita (Pasaje Mallol, 8, unit 5)

Resident makers included textile studio Telitalab, Niebla, Dariogurumi and La Sentia Design. Their guests included:

21–22 December: multidisciplinary artist Koko Che Jota, papier-mâché art by Malascaras and a second appearance by Mumina with her graphic design work.

House 5 (additional venue): Pasaje Mallol, 8, unit 4

Resident makers were Miao, with silver and fired-enamel jewellery, and illustrator La Mari Muriel. Guests included:

Pasaje Mallol’s courtyard also offered Borbotea coffee, Fernando Moro chocolate and local organic grains from Harinas de Ronda during both weekends.

House 6: Espacio 1259 (Sol, 86)

Resident studio Vera Conesa presented a selection of brands:

House 6 (additional venue): Pinto 11 (Sol, 90)

Residents Stéphanie Da Rocha and La Damajuana combined ceramics and design with guest brands:

A model for conscious consumption

Recoveco Market celebrated creativity and promoted sustainable living. Its organisers explained that choosing local products supports the people behind them, strengthens the community and contributes to environmental care.

💡 Visitors who completed the route were offered a surprise gift in thanks for their support.
