Saint Ann’s Bay is the capital of Saint Ann parish in northern Jamaica, in Middlesex County. The area’s Spanish colonial history is associated with Sevilla la Nueva, founded on the island’s north coast by Juan de Esquivel in 1509. It was Jamaica’s first Spanish colonial settlement and served as the first capital of Spanish Jamaica, among the earliest Spanish foundations in the Caribbean.
