Spectacular Sunsets in Seville Province

If there is one thing Seville and its province do well, it is saying goodbye to the day with dreamlike sunsets. From hills and lakes to castles and Roman ruins, some places seem made for watching the sun sink below the horizon. If you love sunsets, here are some of the province’s most beautiful settings.

1. Vía Verde de El Ronquillo: a walk between sky and water

Just half an hour from Seville, El Ronquillo’s greenway is a lovely place to enjoy a sunset in nature. This nearly 10-kilometre trail follows an old railway beside La Minilla reservoir, surrounded by holm oaks, cork oaks and wild olive trees.

At the end of the route, a restored station houses a hotel and a restaurant with a terrace, where you can watch the sun reflected in the water over a drink or a special dinner.

If you enjoy waterside landscapes, Lagos del Serrano in Guillena offers a magical setting at sunset. Surrounded by pine woods and open oak pasture, the lakes reflect a sky glowing orange and violet as the sun goes down.

It is ideal for a quick escape from Seville: a picnic, a day’s fishing or simply time to relax and switch off.
