Seville in Two Days: Walking Itinerary and Map
Two days in Seville give you time for its major monuments and neighbourhoods without turning your stay into a race. Use day one for the Cathedral, Royal Alcázar and Santa Cruz, then day two for Plaza de España, María Luisa Park, the river and Triana. Arrange indoor visits around your booked admission times, especially on Sundays.
Choose a guided activity that fits your itinerary A free walking tour suits an introduction to the city; a monument tour suits travellers who want explanations during interior visits. Check admission inclusions, language and times before booking. Use a tour in place of the equivalent self-guided section, rather than adding another full route.
This plan assumes two full days. If you arrive at lunchtime or leave early, visit one major monument inside and save the other for another trip. Compare our one-day route and three-day itinerary if your schedule differs.

Day 1: Royal Alcázar, Cathedral and Santa Cruz
Start at Plaza del Triunfo, beside the monumental centre. Check the admission times on both tickets before organising your day. As editorial planning estimates, allow 2–3 hours for the Alcázar and 1.5–2 hours for the Cathedral and Giralda, plus time for admission checks, lunch and walking. Your actual visit will depend on your pace and the areas you choose.
The Royal Alcázar deserves time for its palaces and gardens. An early admission slot can leave the Cathedral for after lunch. Check the Alcázar’s official visitor information and bring the documentation required for your ticket. Do not assume the Upper Royal Apartments are included: check the ticket type.
For the Cathedral and Giralda, follow the admission time and entrance on your booking. The official information reviewed lists cultural visits from 10:45 am Monday–Saturday and 2:30 pm on Sundays, subject to religious services and other changes. Check the official schedule and entry conditions. If day one is Sunday, an Alcázar visit in the morning and Cathedral visit in the afternoon can work better, depending on availability.
Prefer a guided visit? Check the Alcázar, Cathedral and Giralda tour on Civitatis. Its listing includes a guide and admission to the three spaces. Confirm the language, schedule, visit order and cancellation conditions before booking. This replaces independent visits: do not buy separate tickets for the same monuments as well.
After lunch: Santa Cruz and Plaza del Cabildo
Take a proper break, then explore Patio de Banderas, Callejón del Agua and Plaza de Doña Elvira. Our Santa Cruz street route offers a longer walk with map links. Allow roughly an hour with stops, without trying to enter every building.
On your way back towards the Cathedral, look for the passageways into Plaza del Cabildo. Our Cabildo guide explains its entrances and Sunday market. If you are running late, choose this stop or a longer Santa Cruz walk. For meals, see our budget dining guide and check current menus.
Day 2: Plaza de España, María Luisa Park and Triana
Begin at Plaza de España and explore its benches, bridges and galleries. Continue into María Luisa Park at your own pace. Allow 1.5–2 hours for this block as an editorial estimate. The outdoor route does not require a monument admission ticket; paid activities are optional, and events or closures can affect access.
After lunch and a rest, head towards the Torre del Oro to see it from the riverbank. This itinerary visits the exterior; entering the museum requires checking its conditions and allowing extra time. Follow the river to the Isabel II Bridge, also called Triana Bridge and cross. Use transport for part of the journey if walking the whole route is too much.
In Triana, combine the area around Triana Market, Calle San Jacinto and Calle Betis. The market and its businesses have separate opening hours, so do not expect every stall to be open in the afternoon. If seeing the working market matters most, reverse day two and begin in Triana.

Choose further stops from our Triana guide. Finish beside the river using our sunset guide; sunset time depends on the date. Alternatively, compare shows on our flamenco page and leave time to reach the venue. A show is optional, not something you need to fit in to complete the day.
Bookings and ways to adapt the route
Book the monuments first, then arrange your day. Use official admission channels or select a guided tour. Dates and conditions vary: this guide does not guarantee places or a fixed total cost. Neighbourhood, square and park walks can be followed independently.
Hot weather: start early, carry water and move longer outdoor walks to cooler hours. Rain: shorten outdoor sections and use your booked indoor visits, remembering that gardens and courtyards are not all covered. Reduced mobility: check access with each monument; uneven paving and the Giralda ascent require specific consideration.
To include the Setas or Macarena walking route, replace part of an afternoon rather than adding another full walk. For more options, see 25 places to see in Seville.
Frequently asked questions
Are two days enough? They are enough for a first introduction to the main sights, not every museum and neighbourhood. Choose the indoor visits that interest you most and leave room to rest.
Can I walk the whole route? The plan groups stops by area, but day two is longer. Shorten the park or Triana sections, or use transport according to your needs.
Can I do it for free? Outdoor walks offer an alternative without monument admission tickets. The Alcázar, Cathedral cultural visits, museums and shows have their own entry conditions. Our free things to do guide helps adapt the budget.
