Many people cross it every day, but few know that Gran Plaza, this major crossroads in Seville, was the centre of an ambitious project conceived by Aníbal González in the 1920s and inspired by English garden cities 🌿.

During the 1929 Ibero-American Exposition, the development called Ciudad Jardín de la Esperanza, now the Ciudad Jardín neighbourhood, extended from here. Yet by the mid-1940s, only a quarter had been built. It was not until the 1950s that it began to take the shape we know today.

At the meeting point of Eduardo Dato, Ciudad Jardín, Cruz del Campo and Marqués de Pickman, it remains a key hub in Nervión.
